BOH Supervisor

Summary of Position: 

The role and purpose of Back of House Supervisor is to assist the Chef’s in all aspects of opening, closing, and supervisory duties.  The station of BOH Supervisor carries further responsibility as a “Key” position at the Ace Cafe, thus it is one in which trust is inherently implied.    

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Be on time.

  • Always be in proper uniform and practice good hygiene.

  • Bring tools required to perform duties (bio-therm, sharpie, note pads, etc.)

  • Held to the highest standards of performance as a member of our leadership team.

  • Completing daily line checks.

  • Be aware that yelling is never an acceptable response to any situation.

  • Handling employee concerns, questions, and/or issues.

  • Performing management functions in the absence of a manager on duty (MOD).

  • Opening or Closing the Ace with or without an MOD.

  • Coaching and/or documenting an employee that is having performance issues.

  • Running daily pre-shift meetings. 

  • Possession and responsibility as a key holder to the premises.

  • Practice handling all Ace Café team members with care and respect regardless of the circumstances.

  • Possess the ability to remain calm in the face of any and all situations.

  • Must be SafeServe Manager certified.

  • Must uphold the highest standards of safe food handling practices at all times.

The role of the Ace Back of House (BOH) Supervisor is rooted in trust and confidence.  The Ace Cafe Supervisor is definitively a "Key" employee, and as such possesses greater responsibilities. The role of Supervisor is an important and meaningful position that requires the individual to operate in a supporting role to management.  A great deal of trust is incorporated into your knowledge, understanding and dependability.  


Qualifications:

  • Previous Kitchen and Supervisory Experience.

  • Must be able to communicate clearly with Managers, Staff, and Guests.

  • Prior experience in culinary is mandatory, leadership experience is preferred.

  • Submit to a background check if requested.

  • Be trustworthy to handle Guests, staff, managerial decision making, and the possession of keys.

  • Understand that taking responsibility for the aforementioned means that there are moral and legal responsibilities inherently attached to these charges.

  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.  Stoop, bend, reach, and lift up to 50 lbs.
