The role and purpose of Marshals at the Ace Cafe Orlando is primarily to ensure safety, maintain a functioning Car Park, be a knowledgeable in the goings on at the Ace and be a well-presented first point of contact with our Guests.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Be on time.
  • Always be in proper uniform and practice good hygiene.
  • Ensure both entrances are open and secured.
  • If Specific event banners are required, please put them up (Refer to weekly Event plan).
  • Check approximate Car/Bike turn out numbers (plan accordingly).
  • Clear car park of any visible Debris/Spillages.
  • Refer to the weekly Car Park Event Manual.
  • Hotspot Booking (best parking spots).
  • Check trash bins have been emptied, are properly lined with bags, and are in place.
  • All Marshals should continually check the car park for hazards, particularly any glass (broken or not) and ensure immediate removal.
  • Ensure all vehicles are parked safely and correctly in the car park - e.g. cars to be reversed parked, bikes are to be parked in a way allowing them to be able to maneuver easily. NO DEAD SPACE.
  • Marshals are always the first point of contact for customers attending the Ace. The presence of a Marshal at the gate shows people that the cafe is a managed environment.  Attendants must be in proper uniform, well groomed, and good mannered.  Marshals must always interact with all Guests in a professional and hospitable manner.
  • Marshals are to check outside and around the cafe premises and to be watchful for any suspicious items, objects, vehicles, and/or unwelcomed behavior.  Any of the aforementioned must be reported to the MOD immediately.
  • There should never be any high-profile vehicles parked in the marked parking bays at boundary of either entrance or exit. This ensures that Marshals and all vehicles entering or exiting have an unrestricted view of the road and car park entrance.
  • Ensure clear, unobstructed escape routes at all times.
  • Any observations or incidents must always be reported to the Manager on Duty so that they can be recorded into the Ace’s daily report. Vehicles, cars or bikes, left in the car park are to be reported to the MOD.

  • All Fuel spills are to be reported no matter how small, then cleaned if instructed to do so. Absorbent grit should be used anywhere there is a spill that could be a hazard to the public. This should be done as soon as it is possible without taking Marshals away from duties of greater priority. Please always advise the MOD if we have less than two full bags left in stock so that we can order more.
  • When Marshals are confronted with a difficult customer, they must always deal with them in a calm and polite fashion. If faced with aggression it is always better to walk away from this kind of situation and to bring to the attention of security and the MOD.
  • Always approach any accidents or incidents calmly – never run, never yell.

  • Hold a Valid Driver’s License.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly with managers, Event Staff and Guests.
  • Prior Knowledge is preferred but not essential.
  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
